Morning at the Lake House

The sun is just coming up when I leave the lovely Lake House
where everyone else is still sleeping.
I can't resist the call of the lake at the end of the street.
I want to put my feet in the cool water and have waves wash against my ankles.
It's a lovely morning to walk along the beach.
The "Blue Moon" from last night's beach walk is still in the morning sky.

After I admire the various shells, feathers, driftwood and stones that the waves splash against, I look up
and there is someone who has come to tell me that  everyone else is now awake
and it is time for the activities of the day to begin!

Trip on top of trip

Yes, when someone drives hundreds of miles to come visit you probably the last thing they want to do is get in a car and drive hundreds more miles for a weekend visit - but that's just what we did with the poor Bloomingtonaut. It was worth it to get the cousins together. ( No, we are not going to get into the first, second, and removed explanations - cousins is cousins)
It was worth it eating all the fantastic fresh produce.

It was worth it for the ferry ride and the island trip.
where we admired art...
and the artist's dog.
It was especially worth it for the lake
an experience to remember on cold winter nights.

Weekend on Lake Erie

Somewhere on an island we found ourselves failing to achieve cell phone communication
in the midst of some really wild life.

We stayed anchored

and steered a steady course.

Thanks to some excellent guidance.

We go rocking and rolling on

Our adventures began in Cleveland where the GPS took us right to the shore of Lake Erie
and to the fabulous
Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum. You can't take pictures inside the museum, but you can easily spend a whole day there listening to music, watching movies, and studying the fantastic exhibits. When we told friends where we were going, Penny said "It's a spiritual experience." Of course, this is the person who has a bust of Elvis in front of her cottage. After immersing ourselves in Rock and Roll, we went back to the 60's at Cleveland's Coventry neighborhood, with its tie-dyed street signs. We admired the artwork on the street
We even sat on it.There were interesting little shopsjust like the 60's...

We had a cell-phone consultation with the Bloomingtonaut about where to eat - based on her college experience. Amazingly enough the place she recommended was still in business

and the falafel's were still delicious!

Hello, Cousin

It's so good to see my cousin again (and the beach).
We begin by provisioning our visit
with fresh produce
picked this morning on a Northern Ohio farm.
Then it's time to set off for adventures!
